These bold beauties are the blossoms of one of Hawaii's most well known Native trees, the Ohia lehua tree. Although these flowers look similar to bottle brush flowers, do not confuse the two. These flowers are one of the the largest food sources for honeycreeper birds that inhabit the wet and wild slopes of kilauea and Mauna Loa.
