This is an adorable little sculpture of one of Hawaii's Endemic birds; the I'iwi. This little guy has a curved beak to reach all the way inside the Lehua Blossoms to drink their sweet nectar. His feathers are as red as the flowers he loves so much and it must help him to blend in. This piece was hand sculpted and hand painted for a show at the Volcano Art Center. Inside the glass Ivy sculpted Lehua Blossoms and even put morning dew drops on their tips. Absolutely Amazing!
